Walnut with Sea Blue Resin Serving board

Beautiful, handmade Walnut serving board, made from local recycled trees.   This particular serving board is approximately, 23.5" long x 1/2" thick x 11.5" wide and was made by a father and son duo.  The son being all of 9 years old and part of the process every step of the way.  This serving board takes about 1 week to create from start to finish. 

The wood in this board is sourced from a local wood recycler who gets wood from downed trees and turns them into art.  The Black Walnut wood is cut to spec, the epoxy color is chosen and mixed in the food safe epoxy and poured into a mold. 

The epoxy is turned early in the epoxy hardening process to give it the swirling and bubble effect to create the one-of-a-kind character.  The board then is planed to an exact thickness, sanded 6 times, cleaned and Food Safe Mineral oil is added to bring out the grain of the wood and colors of the epoxy.
